Our Cause

“Every kid deserves the chance to play.”

Imagine if you had the chance to play soccer on a beautiful sunny Southern California afternoon with some of your favorite celebrities from television, film and sports. Now imagine that playing soccer and having a fun-filled day with your family and friends benefitted children in need everywhere. You’d want to play!

Chance to Play 2012 brings together the joy of sports, celebrities and a lot of fun all to benefit children in need here at home and across the globe. Created by Kyle Weiss, the founder of FUNDaFIELD and Ryan Potter, the founder of Toy Box of Hope, Chance to Play is a day of fun, soccer, celebrities, good times and entertainment for two very good causes.

FUNDaFIELD

Started by Weiss, FUNDaFIELD builds fields in poverty-stricken, often war-torn, countries where many of the children either have been or are at great risk of becoming child soldiers. The fields become a source of pride for the communities and the children, giving them a place to play safely with their friends as well as providing them an incentive to enroll in and attend school. FUNDaFIELD believes in the power of sports as a form of therapy for kids.

Toy Box of Hope

Ryan Potter, known for his role on Nickelodeon’s Supah Ninjas, started Toy Box of Hope to address the ever growing problem of youth homelessness in Los Angeles. Moved by the number of families he saw living on the streets of Los Angeles Ryan wanted to bring the children hope, raise awareness by creating events and as well as raise funds for organizations which are on the frontlines of positive change in the challenging field of youth homelessness.

Together

Both Kyle and Ryan feel there is a natural fit as both organizations try to raise funds and awareness through events and they both rely on grassroots efforts to run their charities and events. So by combining efforts they are able to help children both at home and abroad who are in the greatest need.

All funds raised from ticket sales, fundraising efforts, sponsor donations and other sources will go directly to the children both organizations serve. There will be more soccer fields built in Africa thereby increasing school enrollment and attendance in war torn areas. There will be an additional van on the streets of Los Angeles looking for homeless youth to safe shelter. There will be additional equipment, more meals, winter coats, Christmas gifts and many other items of hope and survival that otherwise would not have made it to the hands of so many suffering children.

You can make the difference. You can change a child’s life. Come on out to Chance to Play 2012 and see how you can make a difference today.
